In The News: Up-Rising Beauty manufacturing facility opens to support next-gen cosmetic scientists

Charismatic Chemist cuts the ribbon on New Jersey - based cosmetic manufacturing venture.

Late last month, formulation and R&D chemist – turned entrepreneur Rachel Johnson hosted the grand opening of Up-Rising Beauty. The new contract manufacturing facility in Old Bridge, New Jersey, promises to support the next generation of cosmetic scientists and help make their innovation ideas a reality.

Johnson, who’s known throughout the industry as The Charismatic Chemist, isn’t leading the new venture on her own. The Up-Rising Beauty facility is a collective of black and brown beauty industry entrepreneurs.

“Up-Rising Beauty is committed to creating an atmosphere that encourages creativity, risk-taking, and ultimately the creation of products that not only make our customers feel beautiful but also have apositive impact on our world,” explains a press release announcing the opening. “The new facility has been designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating energy-efficient technologies, environmentally friendly practices and a minimal carbon footprint while producing the highest quality products.”

And the venture is working with local ingredient farmers in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean to expand its ‘up-rising’ impact well beyond the borders of New Jersey and the United States.
